We finally got around to building this. I think we bought the set back in December. We spread it out over a few days, doing one section at a time. It’s actually really pretty… (See my Instagram Post for in-progress shots!)

Click the product box below to get your own! Build your own orchid with this LEGO decorative artificial plant and flowers - a special LEGO set for adults from Botanical Collection. Inspired by a real orchid, this stylish model version features 6 large flowers and 2 newly opened flowers, plus the blue fluted vase. 608 pieces.

LEGO: Scarecrow

Scarecrow
“Let me know if you see any birds around here!”

The Scarecrow takes his duty of keeping birds out of the farmer’s cornfield very seriously, and he tries his hardest to frighten them off whenever he sees one fly near. He thinks he’s the spookiest thing around, since no one has ever told him that with his smiling face and button eyes, he actually doesn't look all that scary.

Although he can’t tell through his straw-stuffed noggin, the Scarecrow’s wide-brimmed old hat has become a favorite perch for a local crow. It always politely waits until he’s not looking before it swoops down to nab a snack, so as far as he can tell, he’s doing a perfect job!

LEGO: Spooky Girl

Another must have LEGO minifigure for all those who love the kooky and spooky...

Spooky Girl
"Do you want to come play with me?"

The Spooky Girl likes everything that’s creepy, crawly, icky and eerie. She loves having bad dreams and watching scary black-and-white movies. She loves taking long walks through old graveyards, hearing the wind howl at night, and seeing dry leaves fall off of trees. She loves rats and bats and snakes and spiders, and they love her, too.

Because of all that, the Spooky Girl tends to come off as just a little bit…different. People don’t always understand her point of view, or her sense of style, or her habit of suddenly appearing behind them in mirrors when they don’t know she’s in the room. But she can’t help being spooky; it’s just the way she is!

LEGO: Vampire Bat

It's no secret that I'm a huge LEGO fan. In fact, you'll find several posts throughout my blog highlighting some of my favorite LEGO minifigures. So, keeping with this October's Vampire theme, here's the Vampire Bat:

Vampire Bat
Now, while I think he's adorable, and a must have (which I do) for all gothic LEGO-lovers... his official description leaves a little something to be desired:

"What a lovely day!”

The clever and stealthy Vampire Bat may be his monster master’s chief hench-bat, but he isn’t entirely thrilled by wicked schemes to eclipse the sun and plunge the world into eternal darkness. After all, he might be one of the children of the night, but that doesn’t mean he wants to spend all his time there!

In fact, the Vampire Bat actually loves being out in the daylight. Sunny days at the beach are his idea of perfection (though he does get a lot of sand in his fur and it’s not easy to see through the glare when your eyes are so well-adapted to the dark). Now that there are a bunch of human monster-fighters trying to foil his master’s plans, he’s secretly rooting for them to win!"

Uhm... no.

LEGO: Lord Vampyre

Lord Vampyre is the evil ruler of the Monster Realms, along with his Bride. He originally planned to give his spooky moonstone to his beloved wife, but soon unearthed its true power, and built a contraption that would be able to eclipse the sun forever. Once he succeeds, all the monsters will be able to roam freely in throughout all the LEGO realms. With the power of his own moonstone, he was able to take control of all the other monsters, and made them retrieve the remaining 5 moonstones. Lord Vampyre owns a loyal zombie henchman, the Zombie Driver, and an army of man-sized bats who protect his castle. He owns a Hearse, as well as the Haunted House, which is home to his Monster Butler, the Zombie Chef, and 2 Ghosts. Lord Vampyre is constantly fighting the Monster Fighters, particularly Dr. Rodney Rathbone, for possession of the moonstones and will stop at nothing to complete his plan.

LEGO: The Lady in Red

Why is this little red-headed delight a must-have for LEGO-loving geeks? Not only does Red Harrington (played by Helena Bonham Carter in The Lone Ranger) own her own brothel, "Red's Traveling Entertainments", she's packing an ornate ivory peg-leg with a deadly surprise in it... a double-barreled shotgun!

LEGO: Zombies

If you're a horror fan and haven't checked out the LEGO Monster Fighters series yet, what are you waiting for? Though it's been ages since I've played with LEGOs, the Ghost Train (set 9467) was an instant "must-have" on my wish list once I saw it! Amazing! I've seen it fully assembled at a local toy store, and, honestly, the pictures over on LEGO's official site do not do it justice.

Zombie Bride
Anyway, in keeping with the theme of my previous post... I thought I might as well give a little shout out to LEGO's Zombie Bride. The Zombie Bride and her gruesomely handsome husband are available in LEGO Set# 9465 Monster Fighters: The Zombies.

LEGO: Vampire Bride

I used to adore LEGO when I was a kid. Honestly, who didn't? Their "fun-factor" was irresistible, even for the most stubborn and malcontent little brat. I'll even confess to still having a few scattered LEGO minifigures decorating one or two of the nooks in my office. Though I must say, my inner girl scout shrieked with delight when I saw this...

Vampire Bride
The Vampire Bride is available in LEGO Set# 10228 Monster Fighters Haunted House.

I should mention, however, that Firestar Toys is among one of the best places online to shop for official and custom LEGO minifigures, as well as enough random pieces and bits to bit and piece together a little LEGO version of pretty much anyone you know.
